The Opportunity

NTS is seeking an Agile Video Systems Engineer to support the design, engineering, integration, deployment, and sustainment of advanced video systems operating across both edge and enterprise environments. These systems support executive-level and high-threat operational environments where reliability, security, and mission readiness are essential.

The Agile Video Systems Engineer will serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) working alongside the customer. The engineer will help ensure video system projects and field deployments meet established standards for performance, consistency, reliability, security, and configuration management.

This position supports U.S. Department of State (DoS) requirements in domestic and overseas (OCONUS) locations, including potentially high-threat and austere environments. The position may require travel of up to 50%, including extended Temporary Duty (TDY) assignments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering and technical support for video systems, ensuring system availability, reliability, performance, and operational readiness.
  • Support U.S. Department of State requirements across multiple domestic and overseas (OCONUS) theaters and operational locations.
  • Design, engineer, integrate, test, deploy, and sustain modern video systems supporting mission-critical and high-threat environments.
  • Research, evaluate, test, validate, and implement emerging technologies to improve system capabilities, reliability, efficiency, and mission effectiveness.
  • Lead or support proof-of-concept (POC) activities and technology demonstrations in laboratory, testing, training, and operational environments.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, engineering artifacts, test procedures, and deployment standards.
  • Identify training requirements for field technicians and develop comprehensive digital training materials and curricula.
  • Ensure compliance with DoS Protective Technology configuration management processes and established engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with vendors, industry partners, and government agencies to develop and maintain standardized certification and validation processes for mobile video systems and program-specific technologies.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and support verification and validation activities in accordance with established configuration management and engineering protocols.
  • Provide on-site U.S. Department of State technical oversight during system verification testing, acceptance testing, and related engineering activities.
  • Apply broad technical knowledge and subject matter expertise to moderately complex engineering and operational assignments.
  • Analyze technical issues, develop solutions, and make recommendations based on established engineering principles, operational requirements, and mission objectives.
  • Collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary engineering, technical, security, and program teams.
  • Support system deployments, troubleshooting, maintenance, and sustainment activities as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of program and mission requirements.
Requirements
  • Must have an active Secret clearance issued by the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA)
  • Must be able to maintain all required security clearances, access approvals, and program-specific authorizations.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, systems engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered where permitted by contract requirements.
Required Skills, Experience & Abilities
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical experience supporting modern countermeasures and integration systems, security technologies, video systems, or related mission systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of radio frequency (RF) theory and principles, including the impact of RF systems operating in electronic countermeasures (ECM) environments.
  • Experience supporting vehicle movement planning, diplomatic security operations, and countermeasure systems.
  • Understanding insurgent Improvised Explosive (IED) emplacement tactics
  • Ability to develop Techniques, Tactics, and Procedures (TTP’s) for deploying vehicles equipped with systems based on the national, local, and emerging Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) threat
  • Comprehensive knowledge of countermeasures and integration systems used by the U.S. Department of State, including CREW-2 systems
  • Excellent writing and verbal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems and office automation software (e.g., Microsoft Office, SharePoint)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner.
  • Assertive – a good (positive) attitude and ability to work as a member of a cohesive team.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects and have strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with cellular and satellite communications services
