Job summary

CSCI Consulting is seeking an experienced Agile Scrum Master to support a federal government client, applying Agile and SAFe methodologies to deliver mission-critical technology solutions. The Scrum Master will coach teams, facilitate PI planning, and drive continuous improvement across stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have a Secret clearance, 7+ years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills to collaborate with architects, security SMEs, and product owners.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Seven or more years of relevant professional experience.
  • Three or more years leading Agile Scrum and/or SAFe teams.
  • Strong Agile background with at least three years leading teams using Agile Scrum or SAFe.
  • Understanding of software development processes including requirements management, development and testing, configuration, quality assurance, and release management.
  • Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving.
  • Ability to work with clients to understand their needs.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional presence.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute work during PI through planning, retrospectives, and demos.
  • Refine backlog with product owners and business analysts.
  • Remove impediments and coordinate across teams.
  • Maintain metrics to identify improvement areas.
  • Perform capacity planning for iterations and increments.
  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters to manage dependencies.
  • Liaise with architects and security SMEs to ensure quality communication.
  • Manage releases and dependencies across teams and third parties.
  • Support development of product roadmaps.
  • Coach the team to become high performing and continuously improve.
  • Develop and refine processes to enhance quality and productivity.
  • Engage with Agile communities of practice within the organization.
  • Ensure staffing for Epics and Features.
  • Schedule work and provide guidance to meet objectives.
  • Ensure product quality and timeliness.

CSCI Consulting is seeking an experienced Agile Scrum Master to support a federal government client in delivering mission‑critical technology solutions using Agile and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies. The Scrum Master will serve as a servant leader, Agile coach, and facilitator, helping teams deliver high‑quality solutions while fostering continuous improvement and collaboration across stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coach Agile teams operating within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Coach and lead an agile team within a scaled agile framework (SAFe)
  • Facilitate team breakouts to plan work and create PI objectives during PI Planning
  • Facilitate planning and execution of work during a Program Increment through sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos
  • Facilitate backlog refinement by collaborating with the product owners and business analysts
  • Track and remove impediments to improve agile team’s efficiency and effectiveness; reaching out to the larger organizational network for impediment removal; ensuring cross‑team coordination
  • Maintain relevant metrics to understand how well the team is doing and identify areas of improvement
  • Perform capacity planning to help teams plan iterations and increments
  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters to manage dependencies and ensure consistency across teams
  • Liaison with architects, cyber security SMEs, and other stakeholders; fostering quality communication between engineering disciplines
  • Manage product releases and dependencies between teams and third parties or between assigned teams and other Scrum teams
  • Support development of product roadmaps
  • Coach the team to continuously improve and become a high performing team
  • Develop new processes and refine existing processes to enhance quality and productivity
  • Strengthen the presence of the team within the Agile communities of practice and actively contribute to the organization’s Agile Community
  • Ensure appropriate staffing for assigned Epics and Features
  • Schedule and allocate work, providing advice and guidance, and resolving problems to meet technical performance and business objectives
  • Ensure product quality and timeliness of efforts
Minimum Requirements
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Seven (7)+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Three (3)+ years leading Agile Scrum and/or SAFe teams
  • Strong Agile background, with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience leading teams using an Agile Scrum or Scaled Agile approach
  • Understanding of the software development, including requirements management, development and testing, configuration management, quality assurance, and release management
  • Creativity and adaptability in problem‑solving
  • Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional presence
  • U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Skills
  • SAFe Advanced Scrum Master, SAFe Practitioner, or other advanced Agile certifications
  • Prior Oracle EBS Federal Financial Management experience supporting DoD
  • Experience with Oracle E‑Business Suite, information exchanges, data warehouse
  • Experience with test automation techniques and tools
  • Experience with building in software security (BSIMM, security touchpoints)
  • Experience with continuous deployment modelsAbility to apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts, and contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies
  • Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value
  • Past experience working with a Federal agency
  • Department of War experience is a plus!
