Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking an Agile Professional I to guide teams in applying Agile practices and drive continuous improvement across programs. The role focuses on removing impediments, coaching product teams, and promoting transparency to deliver client projects successfully.

Requires a Secret U.S. Security Clearance, range of responsibilities includes backlog support, and occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in an Agile environment or related field.
  • In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 4 years of related experience is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in Agile Professional role (Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer, Agile Coach, etc.).
  • Experience in project management and issue tracking tools such as Jira, Confluence or Redmine.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and coach teams on the adoption of Agile practices, facilitating continuous improvement and higher levels of maturity.
  • Identify and remove impediments or guide the team on how to remove them to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Lead discussions, decision-making processes, and conflict resolution sessions to promote team collaboration and effectiveness.
  • Assist with internal and external communication to improve transparency and radiate information.
  • Serve as an authority on the Agile Framework, providing recommendations for the implementation of new Agile teams and best practices.
  • Provide all necessary support to the team using a servant leadership style to help them achieve project goals.

As an Agile Professional I you will play a pivotal role in guiding teams and the organization in the effective application of Agile practices. You will facilitate the adoption and continuous improvement of Agile methodologies, ensuring the successful delivery of client projects. Your primary focus will be on coaching teams to achieve higher levels of Agile maturity, removing impediments, and enhancing communication and transparency.

  • Serve as an authority on the Agile Framework, providing recommendations for the implementation of new Agile teams and best practices.
  • Support and educate the Product Owner on refining and maintaining the product backlog.
  • Provide all necessary support to the team using a servant leadership style to help them achieve project goals.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in an Agile environment or related field.
  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications.
  • In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 4 years of related experience is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in Agile Professional role (Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer, Agile Coach, etc.).
  • Project Management or Business Analyst experience in an Agile environment.
  • Experience in project management and issue tracking tools such as Jira, Confluence or Redmine.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
  • Understanding of the project lifecycle (preliminary design through maintenance phases) using Agile principles.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • One or more Agile certifications such as PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM), Certified Scrum Practitioner-Scrum Master (CSP-SM), Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
Essential Functions

  • Frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Occasional travel may be required to support project needs and team collaboration.
Compensation

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $71,338.47 - $98,090.40.

Security Clearance

The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.

Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
