Job summary

Momentum Engineering, Inc. seeks a Microservices Developer to modernize a legacy system through Java Spring Boot microservices on AWS with REST APIs and CI/CD.

You will design, develop, integrate, and deliver services, while embracing containerization and Agile practices to ensure rapid, reliable deployments. The role requires active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph, a related degree or equivalent experience, and 6+ years of experience (or 4+ with a Master’s).

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of relevant software development experience, or 4 years with a Master’s degree.
• Experience developing software in an Agile environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented software development environment.
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Java Spring Boot microservices using AWS-native technologies.
• Build RESTful services capable of filtering, selecting, and processing complex data objects.
• Support modernization of legacy applications into scalable microservices-based architectures.
• Implement CI/CD principles and automated delivery workflows using Maven, GitLab, GitOps, and related tooling.
• Develop, integrate, test, and deploy software in an Agile development environment.
• Support containerized application deployment using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop and maintain interfaces with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, and release activities.
• Collaborate closely with software developers, systems engineers, testers, product owners, and other stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot application and integration issues across development and production environments.
• Participate in an on-call rotation supporting operational systems.
