Description:

Software Architect who will own the design, delivery, and evolution of AWS infrastructure and associated application services. Candidate should blend deep AWS expertise with hands-on Java and Python development skills and mentor junior engineers while driving architectural best practices.

• Design & Blueprint - Create end to end, scalable, secure, and cost optimized architectures for event driven services, data pipelines, and search solutions on AWS.
• Hands On Development - Write production grade Java (Spring Boot) and Python (Lambdas) services that run as AWS Lambda functions or containerized workloads (Kubernetes).
• Infrastructure as Code - Define and maintain IaC, ensuring reproducibility and version control of the entire stack.
• Data & Messaging Layer - Architect and implement solutions leveraging DynamoDB, OpenSearch, SQS, SNS for high throughput, low latency data access and streaming.
• Observability & Reliability - Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting for CloudWatch and custom dashboards.
• CI/CD & DevSecOps - Be familiar with Gitlab pipeline, static code analysis, blue-green/canary deployments.
• Technical Leadership - Mentor 2 4 junior developers, conduct code reviews, run architecture deep dives, and champion best practice adoption (clean code, design patterns).
• Collaboration - Be able to communicate technical details / solutions as well as roadblocks to leadership and business stakeholders and provide robust solutions as needed.
• Documentation - Produce clear, up to date architectural diagrams, run books, and knowledge base articles to enable cross team consumption.
• Be able to prepare Standard Operating Procedure for frequently executed as well as on-call operations.

Position Required Skills:

• Design scalable, secure, and cost-optimized architectures for event-driven services, data pipelines, and search solutions on AWS.
• Write production-grade Java (Spring Boot) and Python services for AWS Lambda functions or Kubernetes workloads.
• Define and maintain infrastructure as code for reproducible, version-controlled deployments.
• Architect solutions using DynamoDB, OpenSearch, SQS, and SNS for high-throughput, low-latency data access and streaming.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting with CloudWatch and custom dashboards.
• Use GitLab pipelines, static code analysis, and blue-green/canary deployments.
• Mentor 2-4 junior developers, conduct code reviews, run architecture deep dives, and promote best practices.
• Communicate technical solutions and roadblocks to leadership and business stakeholders.
• Produce architectural diagrams, run books, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures.

Position Desired Skills:

• Java, Spring Boot or Python
• Database: NoSQL / MongoDB query and schema design
• Test frameworks and automation including Playwright and Cucumber

AD4 Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree plus 12 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree plus 10 years of relevant experience.

An Associate's degree plus 14 years of relevant experience or high school diploma/GED plus 16 years of experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is clearly related to the position.

Ability to support an on-call rotation.

Salary Range:

$217k-$266k (Annually)

The range displayed above is a likely salary range for this position. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possible contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
