Job summary

Rieth-Riley Construction Co., Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Aggregate Quality Control Technician for Kasson Sand and Gravel in Maple City, MI.

The role tests and manages aggregate quality on site, producing QC summaries and reports, while ensuring compliance with safety policies. The technician will operate and maintain testing equipment and may pursue a MDOT Certified Aggregate Technician Certificate within 12 months.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and/or GED required.
  • 1–2 years of aggregate quality control/inspector experience preferred.
  • MDOT Certified Aggregate Technician Certificate preferred.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Problem solving skills with high degree of attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons and willing to work longer hours as needed.
  • Ability to lift samples up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and platforms up to 40 feet in elevation.
  • Learn various forms of aggregate tests and perform them in a timely manner as needed.

Test and manage the quality of all aggregate products being produced to ensure proper specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Obtain samples and perform tests, calculations and inspections of aggregates on site
