Job summary

Walbec Group is offering an Aggregate Summer 2027 Internship aimed at students pursuing Engineering, Construction Management, Geology or Mining. The role provides on-site exposure to aggregate manufacturing, safety practices, and production support at our Wisconsin plants.

Mentors will guide you through real-world site activities and project documentation. You will observe, assist, and learn about material handling, quality control, inventory, and production tracking while developing

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Geology or Mining.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in plant safety meetings and follow safety procedures on job sites.
• Assist in site safety audits and day-to-day operations at an aggregate crush/wash plant.
• Observe aggregate processes and assist with production activities, material handling, and inventory tracking.
• Help collect material samples and observe quality control and plant performance.
• Shadow plant operators and foremen to gain hands-on exposure to operations.

• Participate in plant safety meetings and follow safety procedures while on job sites.
• Participate and assist in site safety audits
• Support day-to-day operations at an aggregate crush/wash plant by assisting with production activities and material handling.
• Observe and assist with aggregate processes, including how materials are produced, stockpiled and loaded.
• Assist with tracking production information, materials, and inventory.
• Help collect material samples and observe quality control and plant performance.
• Support manufacturing related projects such as equipment tracking, site documentation and inventory organization.
• Shadow plant operators and foreman to gain hands on exposure to aggregate manufacturing operations.

The Candidate

• Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Geology or Mining.
• Self-starter and ability to work independently.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
