Position Overview

The Materials Division of H&K Group, Inc. is seeking an Aggregate and Asphalt Quality Control Technician responsible for sampling and testing aggregate and asphalt to ensure quality standards are met. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, self-motivated, and experienced.

Responsibilities

• Follow OSHA, MSHA, and H&K safety policies
• Ensure compliance with quality control plans
• Sample and test materials according to standards
• Maintain accurate test records
• Keep work environment clean and organized
• Calibrate and maintain testing equipment
• Communicate effectively with plant operations, agencies, and team
• Generate reports and analyze trends
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic and organizational skills
• Basic math skills for AASHTO and ASTM procedures
• Computer skills including spreadsheets and word processing
• Ability to work independently or in a team
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Attain NECEPT technician qualification within 18 months
• Ability to meet standards of PennDOT, PA Turnpike, FAA, etc.
• Ability to use PPE and meet physical requirements

Preferred Skills

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience with aggregates and bituminous materials
• NECEPT certifications
• Knowledge of crushing and asphalt plants

Physical Demands

• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Use hands for handling and feeling
• Visual acuity for various perceptions

Work Environment

• Occasional exposure to moving parts, heights, fumes, and airborne particles
• Work with materials up to 300°F
• Hours may include overtime, nights, and weekends
