Job summary

Google LLC in Addison, TX is seeking a senior Databases Engineer to design, migrate, and optimize scalable multi-model databases that support AI agents. You will work with enterprise customers to architect resilient, always-on systems and leverage automated onboarding, testing, and observability for modernization journeys.

You will apply extensive Google Cloud database expertise to drive secure, high-performance data platforms, with focus on relational, graph, and vector engines across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience with Google Cloud Databases (e.g., AlloyDB, Cloud SQL, Spanner, Firestore, and Bigtable).
• Experience with RDBMS such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server (engines, schema design, concurrency).
• Experience in application development using Java, Python, build systems, ORMs (e.g., Hibernate), and JDBC.
• Experience with IaC and AI, including Terraform provisioning and AI integration via LangChain and LangGraph.
• Experience with performance and HA/DR (diagnosing execution plans, wait states, indexing, connection pooling, replication, automated failover, multi-region DR, and point-in-time recovery).

Responsibilities

• Design and manage unified, multi-model database solutions (relational, key-value, graph, vector search).
• Lead complex database modernizations using migration Agents and DMS.
• Shift database SRE to AI-driven management using Gemini-powered observability agents.
• Implement QueryData APIs and SQL translation for analytics via natural language queries.
• Establish security, encryption, and IAM-based access controls aligned with regulations.
