Job summary

Sonar is seeking a Product Manager to drive the roadmap for Gitar, our agentic code review platform. You will work from San Mateo with the founding team to grow Gitar from a standalone product into a core part of Sonar’s verification suite.

You will shape how Gitar evolves, translate competitive dynamics into clear positioning, and turn developers’ needs into a concrete roadmap for the Gitar and Sonar teams, collaborating with product, engineering, sales, and marketing.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the agentic code review vision and roadmap.
• Prioritize opportunities to build and maintain an effective Gitar roadmap.
• Interact directly with users to gather feedback and support them.
• Ensure enterprise trust requirements (e.g., SOC 2, data residency).
• Translate competitive landscape into clear product differentiation and positioning.
• Collaborate with other PMs to design cross-product features.
• Partner with sales, marketing, and customer success to scale Gitar in Sonar’s GTM motion.
• Help the Product Management team grow in processes and tooling.
• Attend conferences and share talks if appropriate.

Gitar.ai is an AI-native code review platform that uses AI agents to support pull request validation and CI workflows by reviewing code, diagnosing failures, proposing fixes, and adding tests and validations directly within existing development processes. Gitar automatically makes every change production-ready, approves and merges routine changes, involves humans only in exception cases, and learns from each exception to improve over time. In that model, humans oversee the end-to-end process rather than manually reviewing every change.

Position description

Sonar is looking for a Product Manager to drive the roadmap for Gitar, our recently-acquired agentic code review platform. You will work hands-on, from San Mateo, with the Gitar founding team and the broader engineering organization to grow Gitar from a standalone product into a core part of Sonar’s verification platform.

As a Product Manager, you will shape how Gitar evolves and how it integrates with the rest of the Sonar family. To achieve this, we need a passionate Product Manager who will research, clarify, and prioritize the needs of developers and engineering leaders evaluating agentic code review, translate a fast-moving competitive landscape into clear positioning, and turn those needs into a roadmap for the Gitar and Sonar teams.

You will join the Product Management team, composed of other passionate Product Managers eager to collaborate with you. You will also work closely with the Gitar engineering team and founders, and with Sonar’s broader sales, marketing, and customer success teams, to make sure Gitar’s roadmap reflects both what customers need today and where the combined SonarQube + Gitar experience is going.

By joining us, you will bring your experience shipping developer tools or AI-native products, your comfort operating in ambiguity, and your experience as a Product Manager to help take Gitar from a fast-growing standalone product to a core part of how the world reviews AI-generated code.

What you will do

• Contribute to the different areas of the agentic code review vision and communicate about them, internally and externally.
• Research, clarify, and prioritize opportunities to build and maintain an effective roadmap for Gitar in close partnership with the Gitar founding team.
• Interact directly with our users and customers to support them, integrate their feedback, and identify opportunities.
• Ensure Gitar continues to meet enterprise trust requirements customers expect (e.g., self-hosted deployment, SOC 2, and data residency).
• Develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and translate it into clear product differentiation and positioning.
• Work closely with other product managers to design cross-product features.
• Partner with sales, marketing, and customer success to support deals, objection handling, and enablement content as Gitar scales inside Sonar’s go-to-market motion.
• Help the Product Management team grow in its organization, tools, and processes.
• Attend conferences and give talks if you like.

Experience and qualifications

• Passionate about AI-native developer tools and the shift toward agentic software development.
• Experience in software product management, ideally for developer tools, DevOps, CI/CD, or code review/quality product.
• Technical fluency with SDLC tooling — Git, CI/CD pipelines, pull request workflows, and source-control platforms (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps).
• Familiar with the AI technologies powering coding agents - LLMs, agent harnesses, and how they plan, call tools, and take action inside a developer’s workflow.
• Understanding of AI/LLM-based products, including the trust, safety, and data-handling considerations enterprise buyers care about.
• Highly autonomous and pragmatic, with an obsession for solving external customer problems; comfortable partnering directly with founders and a small, fast-moving team.
• Excellent cross-functional collaborator, able to align product, engineering, sales, and marketing around a shared roadmap.
• Open-minded and very positive can-do attitude.
• Comfortable in dealing with change, complexity, and uncertainty, and operating with the speed and ambiguity of an early-stage, recently-acquired product.
• Self-confident enough to challenge the status quo as well as to receive feedback.
• Leadership: you take initiative and demonstrate your ability to lead a subject from beginning to end.

Salary range
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $175,000 – $250,000 USD + other benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
