Job summary

VAE, Inc. is seeking an Agentic AI Engineer to design, develop, and drive innovative agentic AI projects supporting national security programs under the C5ISR program.

This role will build reusable multi-agent orchestration patterns, define tool and service contracts, and partner directly with mission stakeholders to translate operational workflows into agent graphs and tool decompositions. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience building

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret
• 4+ years of hands-on software/AI experience
• Experience with agentic AI frameworks and tool integration
• Experience with cloud platforms and container technologies

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and drive agentic AI projects for national security programs
• Build multi-agent orchestration patterns using LangGraph, Strands, or Bedrock AgentCore
• Define and maintain tool and service contracts, including MCP/A2A integration
• Develop evaluation harness for agent behavior, including trace analysis and non-deterministic outputs quality metrics
• Implement guardrails: human-in-the-loop, validation, graceful failure, cost and latency budgets
• Collaborate with mission stakeholders to translate workflows into agent graphs and tool decompositions
