23andMe Research Institute seeks a Senior Software Engineer to build AI systems that transform large genetic datasets into personalized health insights. You’ll design agentic AI pipelines, orchestrate LLMs, and ground outputs with genetic context for a health product.

Qualifications

• BS in CS or equivalent; 4+ years of industry experience.
• Hands-on experience building agentic AI systems and LLM-powered pipelines in production.
• Experience with RAG architectures and vector stores.
• Strong proficiency with Python and libraries (pandas, pytorch).
• Infrastructure as code experience, ideally Terraform on AWS, containerized in Docker.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD deployment pipelines and testing frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Build agentic AI systems that generate personalized health and ancestry insights, orchestrating LLMs with genetic and clinical context.
• Design and implement RAG pipelines to ground model outputs in a customer’s genetic data.
• Build robust evaluation frameworks to measure model quality and catch regressions for a health product.
• Implement CI/CD and automated testing to ensure reliable, continuously delivered code.
• Debug production incidents and own shipping reliability.
• Integrate AI into daily workflows to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
