Job summary

Thespian Labs in Somerville, MA seeks an Agent Product Manager to lead our embodied AI products. You will define the roadmap for agent features, coordinate between research, engineering, and users, and ship agents that perceive, act, and speak in real environments.

You will translate real-world needs into concrete product requirements, measure success with meaningful metrics, and iterate rapidly with a small, hands-on team.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a product manager who has shipped real products, ideally 0 to 1 and in AI, ML, or another deeply technical domain.
  • Enough technical depth to work closely with researchers and engineers, reason about model capabilities, and earn their trust.
  • Track record of working directly with customers or partners, from discovery through launch.
  • Strong product judgment and taste, able to distinguish demos from real product value.
  • Ability to define success and measure it with actionable metrics.
  • Bias for action and comfort with ambiguity in a small, fast-moving team.

Responsibilities

  • Set the agent product roadmap, deciding what our agents do, for whom, and in what order.
  • Shape the agent experience end to end across voice, perception, gesture, and screen.
  • Work with design partners on discovery, scoping deployments, and turning needs into requirements.
  • Translate research into product, bringing capabilities to users and feedback back to research and engineering.
  • Define success metrics and evaluation to ensure real-world usefulness, not just demos.
  • Ship agents into production, drive launches with engineering and partners, and iterate based on learnings.
  • Be the voice of the user and environment in every decision the team makes.

Job description

Define and ship the agents built on a foundation model for embodied behavior. The products where the model meets the real world.

Thespian Labs is an embodied intelligence research lab with roots at MIT. We are building a foundation model for behavior, the layer between reasoning and execution where a body has to do something coherent while the world keeps moving. Reasoning can plan and decide. Execution can render pixels and drive motors. The layer in between is the one nobody has built, and it is the whole of our work.

About the Role

As Agent Product Manager at Thespian Labs, you will lead our agent products, the ones we put into the world to turn our model into something people can meet, talk to, and rely on. Our model gives an agent a body, a humanoid in a room or a character on a screen, so the product is never just a chat window. It is a presence that perceives, acts, and speaks. You will decide what our agents do, where they do it, and what makes them good, and ship them with our partners into real environments.

You will sit between research, engineering, and the people who use what we build, turning real-world needs into a roadmap and the model’s capabilities into products. The team is small and the loop is short, so you will be close to the work, from early discovery with design partners to an agent live in a store. You will define what good looks like for behavior that has to hold up in the real world, and hold the product to it.

Responsibilities
  • Set the agent product roadmap, deciding what our agents do, for whom, and in what order, and saying no to the rest.
  • Shape the agent experience end to end, what the agent perceives, says, and does across voice, perception, gesture, and screen, and what makes it feel present and trustworthy rather than canned.
  • Work hand in hand with design partners, running discovery, scoping deployments, and turning what real environments need into clear product requirements.
  • Translate research into product, turning the model’s capabilities into things people can use, and bringing real-world needs back to research and engineering.
  • Define what good means for an agent, the metrics and evaluation that tell us whether it is actually helping in the real world, not just demoing well.
  • Ship agents into production, driving launches with engineering and partners, then measuring, learning, and iterating.
  • Be the voice of the user and the environment, bringing the room, the store, and the person into every decision the team makes.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience as a product manager who has shipped real products, ideally 0 to 1 and in AI, ML, or another deeply technical domain.
  • Enough technical depth to work closely with researchers and engineers, reason about what the model can and cannot do, and earn their trust.
  • A track record of working directly with customers or partners, from discovery through launch.
  • Strong product judgment and taste, so you can tell a demo from a product and know what makes an experience feel good.
  • The ability to define success and measure it, turning a fuzzy goal like a helpful agent into metrics the team can move.
  • A bias for action and comfort with ambiguity, suited to defining a new product category on a small team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AI or ML products, especially LLMs, agents, voice, or multimodal interfaces.
  • A background in robotics, hardware, or physical products, or experience shipping into physical environments like retail or operations.
  • Experience with design partners or early customers, taking a new product from zero to deployed.
  • A design or UX sensibility for conversational, voice, or embodied interaction.
  • Hands-on experience defining evaluation or quality metrics for AI systems.
  • A technical background in computer science, engineering, or research earlier in your career.

Tell us about a product you shipped, a hard call you made, and an agent or experience you wish existed. We read everything.

Thespian Labs is an equal-opportunity employer. We hire for the work, and we want a lab full of people who don't all think alike. We sponsor visas for the right person.
