Job summary

Advanced Energy is seeking an Electronic Test Technician to perform testing and troubleshooting of electronic equipment to meet production schedules and standards. The role involves following daily instructions and handling a range of semi-routine tasks that vary day to day.

The position requires assembly and testing of circuits and components, documentation of results, and adherence to ISO practices and safety rules.

Qualifications

  • Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
  • Basic electro/mechanical assembly skills.
  • Ability to read technical assembly documentation and schematics.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Performs production assembly operations on electronic components and sub-assemblies.
  • Tests and troubleshoots units using procedures, drawings, schematics and instructions.
  • Works on semi-routine tasks where recognizing nonconformities is required.
  • Maintains fixturing, calibration, preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Documents test results accurately.
  • May assist training other AE employees in established processes.
  • Sets up and tests circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
  • May interact with other departments as a technical interface.
  • Travel may be required.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs testing and troubleshooting of electronic equipment to meet production schedules and performance standards. Receives instructions on daily work and new assignments.

Duties and tasks are standardized but what is performed will vary day to day.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs various production assembly operations on electronic components and sub-assemblies.
  • Uses test procedures, drawings, schematics and verbal/written instructions to test and troubleshoot units.
  • Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where the ability to recognize nonconformities is required.
  • Communicates openly and effectively in a professional manner.
  • Understands and follows all safety requirements.
  • Understands and follows all ISO practices and procedures.
  • Maintains fixturing, performs calibration, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance.
  • May assist with training other AE employees in established processes.
  • Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Documents test results accurately.
  • May act as the technical interface with other departments.
  • Models professional and positive work ethics.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Considers the impact of quality on the customers when making decisions.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
  • Package units built in production
  • Pull kits from stockroom
  • Other duties as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works in a manufacturing environment which may be noisy and fast paced.
  • Many tasks are repetitive in motion and include the use of electronic assembly equipment.
  • Overtime (OT) may be required in times of increased production.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: % OF TIME

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math functions.
  • Ability to perform basic electro/mechanical assembly skills.
  • Component Identification and the ability to read technical assembly documentation and schematics required.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Basic Knowledge of SAP.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ years manufacturing electronic test technician experience.
  • Previous experience in electrical circuits and assemblies testing preferred.
  • Proven ability and experience maintaining flexibility and being able to adapt in a team environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ESD practices.
  • Basic knowledge of electro-mechanical testing and circuit analysis.
  • Minimal problem solving and interfacing with other departments.

EDUCATION:

  • AAS degree in electronics or equivalent and completion of the AE technician test.

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. This is a temporary position employed and paid through a staffing agency. The anticipated pay range for this role is $20.00 to $26.00 per hour.
