The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) invites applications for an Agency Attorney to support the development, implementation, and monitoring of a comprehensive privacy program. The role will assist in legal research, incident response, vendor contract review, data sharing agreements, policy writing, and related tasks.

Qualifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar is required.
• One year of US legal experience after admission or six months as Agency Attorney Interne (30086).
• Incumbents must remain members of the NYS Bar for the duration.
• Experience in privacy law is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Assist with developing and delivering privacy training for NYCHA staff and residents.
• Liaise between NYCHA staff and residents to address privacy issues.
• Assist in initiatives elevating privacy awareness within NYCHA and related entities.
• Prepare privacy evaluations and performance reports assessing privacy compliance.
• Conduct legal research and writing on privacy issues.
• Maintain current knowledge of applicable laws and standards.
• Conduct privacy incident response including interviews and assessments.
• Review privacy terms of vendor contracts and data share agreements.
• Maintain and organize privacy office records.
• Attend privacy trainings and stay updated on trends.
• Prepare updates, briefings, and materials for meetings and projects.
