Position Overview

The Agency Managing Director oversees agency partnerships to ensure profitable growth, align agency goals with strategic objectives, and deliver exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include managing financial performance, building long-term relationships, and driving strategic initiatives that enhance agency success. This role offers high autonomy and requires collaboration with internal teams to leverage market insights and foster a growth-oriented culture.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage financial performance of agency relationships, tracking profitability and growth trends.
2. Develop and implement agency business plans.
3. Identify opportunities for growth and optimize performance metrics.
4. Act as the primary liaison and advocate for agencies within Amerisure.
5. Build and maintain strong relationships, guiding agencies through internal processes.
6. Exercise premium authority and influence underwriting decisions aligned with strategic goals.
7. Collaborate on commission strategies to incentivize and reward agency performance.
8. Proactively develop new agency relationships and maintain existing ones.
9. Address critical agency issues and facilitate timely resolutions.
10. Gather market intelligence to inform strategic decisions and identify opportunities and challenges.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of middle market underwriting experience.
• Preferably 3 years managing direct relationships with agency ownership or leadership.
• Proven ability to identify opportunities, assess risks, and align efforts with strategic goals.
• Strong initiative, ownership, and motivational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent relationship-building and partnership skills.
• Strategic thinking with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective influencing and persuasion skills.
• Outstanding organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel up to 40%.
