Job summary

Compeer Financial is offering a paid internship in Sycamore, IL, through the summer of 2027. The intern will work full-time from the Sycamore office, supporting a Financial Officer with agricultural and financial services, building client relationships and learning through hands-on experience.

The role provides benefits exposure, development opportunities, and interaction with cross-functional teams. The hourly rate is set at $19–$20 USD, with eligibility for university credit where applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum: working towards a bachelor’s degree with at least two years completed in Agricultural Economics, Ag Business or equivalent.
• Solid organizational, communication, problem solving, analytical and influencing skills are required.
• Knowledge of farm production methods and farm business management/finance preferred.
• Demonstrate effective team skills.
• Familiarity with business/financial computer applications is required.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships and network with clients/prospects/agribusinesses.
• Provide outstanding service at Compeer Financial.
• Assist in planning calls and pre-screening prospects.
• Ride along on crop insurance appointments and with a Consumer Lending Specialist.
• Learn cross-selling and commercial loan processes.
• Assist in making new loans and renewals.
• Learn about loan and service products and how to analyze new loans.
• Understand the 5 C’s of credit (risk analysis).
