The position of Agronomy Laborer is of great significance to Valley Agronomics. A person in this position will assist patrons in a professional manner and promote a positive image of the cooperative. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Job Summary

These are the basic requirements of the position and must be performed competently:

  • Assist customers with buying bulk fertilizer, chemicals, and seed as well as delivering grain commodities to the terminal.
  • Load and unload railcars in a timely manner as they come into the business.
  • Verify that the equipment and supporting vehicles are in good working order.
  • Blend and load Agronomy products.
  • Unload grain commodities as they are received.
  • Deliver products such as fertilizer, chemical, seed, or other to customer site.
  • Perform warehouse work to include driving loader, forklift, mechanics, and maintenance.
  • Perform housekeeping inside and outside of all facilities.
  • Complete all safety reports and required record keeping.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Job Qualifications/Prerequisites
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Maintain current license that applies to the position.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Must have strong communication skills; ability to communicate in an appropriate, professional manner with managers, supervisors, employees, customers, vendors, and the general public.
  • Must be able to make appropriate decisions and execute them according to policy.
  • Must maintain appropriate and expected levels of customer service throughout the location.
  • Must have ability to determine order of need and task priority based on level of importance.
  • Must have a manager focus on all interactions and exhibit strong critical thinking/problem-solving skills.
  • Must exhibit a professional and positive image.
