Job summary

Launch Math + Science Centers in Manhattan is seeking part-time instructors to deliver STEM and math enrichment programs across learning centers, homes, and partner schools. You will use Launch's curriculum and engage students through hands-on projects.

Ideal candidates have passion for teaching, strong math or STEM background, and ability to adapt to various settings. Prior tutoring helpful; flexible schedule; commitment for an academic year recommended.

Qualifications

STEM or math proficiency and passion for hands-on projects with kids.
For math tutoring, proficiency through Algebra; Precalculus a plus.
Strong desire to teach children.
Personable, friendly, reliable and communicative.
Previous tutoring or tutoring-like experience preferred.
Flexible schedule and ability to commit to a full academic year.
Belief that every student can learn and love math and science.

Responsibilities

Provide top quality instruction utilizing Launch methods, curriculum, and provided materials.
Enthusiastically engage students during instructional sessions.
Help students gain confidence in their ability to learn and succeed.
Constantly assess and consider ways to improve classroom experience.
Maintain regular communications with the Launch Program Coordinators.
