Job summary

StudentNest Group in California is seeking part-time, in-person tutors to support elementary and middle school students in Adelanto area for the 2026-2027 year. You will deliver reading instruction using provided curriculum and work with groups of up to five students after school.

The role requires fingerprint clearance, TB test, CPR/First Aid certification, and references; a minimum of sixty college credits and at least one year of student-related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must complete DOJ/FBI Live Scan fingerprinting within 48 hours of offer.
• Negative tuberculosis test within 2 weeks of hire.
• First Aid, CPR, and classroom-management certification required.
• Annual mandated-reporter training.
• Three professional references.
• Minimum of sixty college credits.
• At least one year of student-related experience.
• Detail-oriented and highly dependable; consistent attendance.
• Reliable transportation.
• Bilingual skills encouraged (Spanish or other).

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted reading instruction in comprehension and fluency to students in grades 2-8.
• Provide small-group tutoring (groups of up to five students) using provided curriculum and strategies.
• Differentiate teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles and needs, including English learners and students with special needs.
• Build a steady, supportive relationship with the same group of students across the 12-week program.
• Track attendance and student progress and share it with the StudentNest team weekly.
• Prepare lesson plans for sessions during designated preparation time.
