Job summary

Good Shepherd Services, Ltd is seeking an Assistant Program Director in the Bronx to help manage afterschool programming. The role supports the Program Director in daily operations and scheduling, with a 35-hour week and a 10:00am–6:00pm schedule.

Responsibilities include staff coordination, program design, attendance tracking, and community outreach to enroll participants. Candidates should have a High School Diploma and relevant youth-program experience, and be able to obtain required

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; associates or higher encouraged.
• Three years’ youth program supervision/administration experience.
• Experience in program development for youth.
• Able to engage in crisis-intervention activities and lead group activities.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; team player.
• Commitment to youth development and positive youth outcomes.
• Able to work weekends/late evenings and pass clearances.

Responsibilities

• Assist Program Director in daily operation oversight of the program.
• Attend staff meetings and required professional development.
• Assist design and implement programming and scheduling.
• In the Program Director's absence, provide leadership and admin.
• Track and input student records and attendance in databases.
• Foster accountability, safety, and responsibility among participants.
• Coordinate and plan program activities and culminating events.
• Schedule and participate in parent involvement activities.
• Network with community organizations to provide services and information.
• Conduct outreach to enroll participants in programming.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
