Flipany in Deerfield Beach, FL seeks a part‑time Teacher / Supervisor for the Arts, Wellness & Academics afterschool program. You will lead instruction, oversee Homework Assistance, and supervise Youth Counselors to create a safe, engaging environment.

The role combines academics, physical activity, nutrition education, SEL, and creative arts to help kids thrive. Requires a valid U.S. teaching certificate or 2+ years K‑12 teaching experience; bilingual in Spanish or Haitian Creole is a plus.

Qualifications

• Active or expired U.S. teaching certificate (any state).
• Minimum 2 years of verified, active K–12 teaching experience.
• Completion of the first two years of a four‑year teaching degree (transcripts required).

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging instruction using PATHS SEL curriculum and CATCH Kids Club activity program.
• Lead Homework Assistance block and enrichment activities across arts, nutrition, soccer, math, and mindfulness.
• Adapt programming for diverse students, including those with IEPs or additional support needs.
• Provide daily direction and coaching to Youth Counselors on-site.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive environment throughout program hours.
• Coordinate with Program Manager on supervision and operations.

FLIPANY is looking for a dynamic, student‑centered Teacher / Supervisor to lead our Arts, Wellness & Academics (AWA) afterschool program in Deerfield Beach. This is more than a classroom role. You’ll serve as the instructional leader and on‑site supervisor for an innovative, grant‑funded program that blends academics, physical activity, nutrition education, social‑emotional learning, and creative arts — all designed to help kids thrive.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Lead & Inspire

• Deliver engaging, evidence‑based instruction using the PATHS social‑emotional learning curriculum and CATCH Kids Club physical activity program.
• Lead the daily Homework Assistance block and facilitate enrichment activities spanning arts, nutrition, soccer, math, and mindfulness.
• Adapt programming to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with IEPs or additional support needs.

Supervise & Support Your Team

• Provide daily direction, coaching, and instructional guidance to Youth Counselors on‑site.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive environment throughout all program hours.
• Serve as the on‑site supervisory lead, working closely with the Program Manager.

Connect with Students & Families

• Build genuine, positive relationships with students, families, school staff, and your program team.
• Identify students who may need additional support and coordinate with program leadership on accommodations.
• Serve as a warm, professional representative of FLIPANY at every interaction.

Keep Things Running Smoothly

• Oversee student attendance, arrival, and dismissal procedures.
• Maintain program documentation and compliance records in accordance with grant and BASCC standards.
• Support safety protocols, emergency preparedness, and facility readiness throughout the program day.

SCHEDULE

• School Year: Monday–Friday, 1:30 PM–6:00 PM
• This is a part‑time, school‑year position. Summer camp opportunities may be available.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

You must meet at least ONE of the following:

• Active or expired U.S. teaching certificate (any state)
• Minimum 2 years of verified, active K–12 teaching experience
• Completion of the first two years of a four‑year teaching degree (transcripts required)

You also bring:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Minimum 2 years working directly with K–5 students in an educational or youth development setting
• Current in‑person CPR/First Aid/AED certification (online‑only not accepted)
• Strong classroom management, instructional facilitation, and team leadership skills
• Comfort with technology tools for documentation, attendance tracking, and communication
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; bilingual in Spanish or Haitian Creole a plus
• Must pass a Level II background check prior to start
