Job summary

YMCA of Central New Mexico is seeking a Site Lead to supervise activities for children ages 5 to 12 in the Afterschool/Summer Day Camp program, under the Program Director. You will ensure licensing compliance, staffing, curriculum development, and day-to-day operations, and act as liaison with parents.

Qualifications include at least 18 years old, CPR/First Aid/AED and child abuse prevention within 30 days, 2 years' experience with children, and ability to plan age-appropriate activities.

Qualifications

• Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law.
• Knowledge in school age curriculum development, lesson planning, and age-appropriate activities.
• Ability to develop and implement curriculums including Character Development.
• At least 18 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
• 2 years’ experience working with children in a developmental setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of the daily program and curriculum.
• Assist in day-to-day activities in Summer Day Camp/Afterschool program including staffing.
• Ensure proper staff-to-child ratios as per state minimum standards.
• Plan and prepare a creative learning environment with centers of interest and needed materials.
• Interact with children with respect and dignity at all times.
• Maintain program site and equipment and required records.
• Attend family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and trainings.
• Follow the chain of command and assist accordingly.
• Support general housekeeping duties and maintain ratios at all times.
