Job summary

The YMCA of Central New Mexico is seeking a Site Lead to supervise afterschool and summer day camp programs for children aged 5 to 12. Under the Program Director, you will ensure compliance with state licensing, develop and implement curriculum, and oversee day-to-day activities.

You will liaise with parents, manage staff-to-child ratios, attend trainings, and uphold safety policies. Strong communication, organizational skills, and dedication to child development are essential.

Qualifications

• Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law.
• Knowledge in school age curriculum development, lesson planning, and age appropriate activities.
• Be able to develop and implement curriculums to include Character Development.
• At least 18 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
• 2 years’ experience working with children in a developmental setting.
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
• Previous experience with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development & implementation of the daily program and curriculum.
• Assist in day to day activities in the Summer Day Camp/Afterschool program including curriculum and staffing.
• Ensure proper participation/staff ratios as per state minimum standards.
• Plan and prepare a creative learning environment, centers of interest, and materials.
• Interact with children with respect and dignity at all times.
• Maintain program site and equipment and records.
• Attend family nights, program activities, staff meetings, trainings.
• Follow the chain of command and assist accordingly.
