Job summary

Henrico Education Foundation seeks a Program Director to oversee the Learning & Discovery afterschool and summer programs, ensuring a safe, enriching environment aligned with the Foundation’s mission. Responsibilities include program planning, staff hiring/training, risk assessment, and ongoing evaluation.

The role requires meeting Virginia regulations for licensed child day centers, with a degree in a child-related field or equivalent experience, plus demonstrated management and youth-serving

Qualifications

• Meets Virginia Regulations for Licensed Child Day Centers with one of the specified education paths.
• Includes six months to one year of programmatic experience depending on degree.
• Requires management experience including hiring and training.

Responsibilities

• Manage the operations of the Learning & Discovery afterschool program and summer program.
• Plan and coordinate program lessons, activities, and supplies.
• Hire and train staff and conduct ongoing program evaluation.
• Ensure attendance is maintained in Eleyo.
• Build positive relationships with schools, parents, vendors, volunteers, staff and community.
