Job summary

FLIPANY seeks a Youth Counselor to join the Broward AWA program at Deerfield Beach Elementary School. You will provide direct supervision, engage students in activities, and ensure safety and inclusion throughout afterschool program sessions.

You will support diverse learners, assist with SEL, PATHS, nutrition education, and arts enrichment, and maintain positive communication with families while adhering to program guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with afterschool programs or youth services.
• Ability to support students with disabilities or learning differences.
• Must pass Level 2 background screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, active supervision of student groups indoors and outdoors; manage transitions and headcounts; ensure safety and compliance.
• Facilitate activities with adaptations for children with diverse abilities; support SEL, nutrition education, and arts enrichment.
• Maintain attendance records; engage with families; support students with IEPs or additional needs for full participation.
• Follow site emergency procedures and participate in trainings and orientations.
