Job summary

Harris County Department of Education CASE KIDS in Houston, TX seeks an Afterschool Program Specialist to coordinate and implement activities under the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century CCLC Texas ACE grant. The role focuses on providing educational and enrichment opportunities outside school hours, including before/after school, weekends, and summers.

Applicants must be a current high school student (16+). The position is part-time with an hourly wage of $16.

Qualifications

• Current High School student
• Minimum age 16 years old
• Ability to provide a positive environment for students
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Flexible hours for events; after-school, weekends, summers
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus; strong customer service
• Computers with MS Office familiarity a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead enrichment and academic activities for students ages 4–18
• Develop and implement lesson plans for assigned activities
• Attend Professional Development trainings
• Participate in activation observations (formal and informal)
• Maintain confidentiality of information
• Perform other duties as assigned
