Job summary

The YMCA is seeking a Co-teacher to implement and supervise daily activities for youth, fostering social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth in a safe, well-organized environment. The role supports an afterschool Child Development program under supervision.

Minimum age is 16, with childcare experience preferred. Required certifications include CPR/First Aid/AED and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days, plus a DCF Level 2 background check. Weekend/on-call shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 years or older.
• 1 year of childcare experience preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
• Must pass a DCF Level 2 Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and healthy environment for the afterschool program.
• Assist in planning and implementing daily lesson plans.
• Ensure safety and maintain quality of supplies and materials.
• Follow sign-in/out procedures for children daily.
• Report accidents and complete health logs as required.
• Share housekeeping tasks and participate in events and fundraising.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.
