Job summary

Woodcraft Rangers in Pasadena, CA is seeking an After-School Program Leader (Club Leader) to run engaging clubs for about 20 children. This part-time role supports program hours from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with shifts varying by location and 20–25 hours weekly.

You will work under the Site Coordinator and contribute to a positive learning environment. Ideal candidates are energetic, detail-oriented, and able to collaborate with staff and families.

Qualifications

• Availability Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM
• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred
• Experience in expanded learning programs, after-school programs, or youth recreation settings preferred
• Must be able to work with children and youth effectively
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; basic computer skills
• Must pass an assessment evaluating math, reading comprehension, and spelling skills

Responsibilities

• Foster a safe and supportive environment for students physically and emotionally
• Promote an inclusive, welcoming culture that values diversity
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities supporting whole-child development
• Monitor attendance and participation to ensure engagement
• Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
• Collaborate with staff to plan events and celebrate participant achievements
• Manage program materials and adhere to budget guidelines
• Adhere to safety procedures, trainings, and certifications
• Attend professional development sessions; participate in field trips as needed
• Maintain accurate attendance records and report daily
