Job summary

Chess Wizards, Inc. is seeking instructors in Cypress, TX to lead fun, interactive chess classes for elementary students. You will teach fundamentals, guide activities, and promote good sportsmanship using our structured curriculum.

Responsibilities include maintaining a positive classroom, traveling to local school sites, and arriving prepared for each session. This role offers fall-season work with flexible afternoon hours and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children in educational or recreational settings.
• Ability to lead a class independently and create interactive, fun sessions.
• Positive, kid-friendly demeanor and strong sportsmanship.
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals and ability to explain basics to children.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between sites.
• Availability on weekday afternoons (2:00 PM–5:00 PM) for 1–5 classes/week.
• Commitment to safety policies and school guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for elementary students (10–15 kids).
• Use a structured curriculum to teach chess fundamentals and sportsmanship.
• Manage a lively, positive classroom and keep students engaged.
• Encourage problem solving, creativity and critical thinking.
• Follow school safety protocols during arrivals, dismissals, and activities.
