Job summary

Chess Wizards, Inc. is seeking enthusiastic instructors to teach after-school chess sessions at local schools in Malvern, PA. You will lead 10–15 students, using our curriculum to build chess fundamentals and fun learning experiences in a safe classroom environment.

Positions offer flexible weekday afternoons (2:00–5:00 PM) with a typical 1.5 hour class, plus mileage reimbursement for travel. Join a team dedicated to making chess exciting for elementary students.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, or similar).
• Ability to lead a class independently and create interactive, friendly sessions.
• Professional, positive, and kid-friendly demeanor.
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals; explain piece movement, basic strategy and simple tactics for kids.
• Reliable transportation and ability to drive between locations.
• Availability on weekday afternoons (2:00 PM–5:00 PM) to teach 1–5 classes per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Use structured curriculum to teach chess fundamentals and promote good sportsmanship.
• Manage a lively classroom with confidence and positivity.
• Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Follow school safety protocols during arrival, dismissal and in-class activities.
• Travel to various local school sites for each session.
• Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to engage students.
