Position Overview:

We are seeking a part-time dynamic and responsible Afterschool Athletic Coach to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year, starting in August 2025.

The Afterschool Athletic Coach will lead and supervise students in sports and physical activities for extra-curricular activities. The ideal candidate is passionate about youth development, knowledgeable in a variety of sports, and committed to promoting teamwork, and discipline in a safe and inclusive environment.

This role will work on Monday to Friday from 3:00 - 6:00pm.

The Afterschool Athletic Coach reports to the Dean of Students.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead athletic activities such as soccer, basketball, tennis, volleyball, and gymnastics
• Supervise students and ensure a safe, supportive environment at all times
• Teach and reinforce sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive behavior
• Provide instruction appropriate to the age and skill level of participants
• Launch and coordinate competitive athletic programs across multiple sports seasons for middle school students
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and after school staff
• Promote athletic programs through school newsletters, events, and outreach to students and families
• Manage behavior in a respectful, consistent, and supportive manner
• Track attendance and report any incidents or injuries promptly
• Hire, supervise, and evaluate dedicated sports coaches to support seasonal and year-round programs
• Set up and clean up equipment and activity areas
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in physical education or a related field preferred
• Experience working with students from Preschool to Middle School in an athletic or coaching role
• Knowledge of rules, techniques, and safety practices for a variety of sports
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Preferred coaching certification or formal training in sports instruction
• Preferred experience in afterschool programs
  
  
  

Benefits

The hourly rate for this position is $30-35 per hour.
