Job summary

Union Settlement Association in New York, NY, is seeking an Activity Specialist for the afterschool program. The role is part-time (2:00pm–6:00pm) at on-site locations, offering a $19.00–$22.00 hourly rate and non-exempt status.

The candidate will develop curricula, facilitate activities across sports, arts, STEM, and leadership, and support youth growth and safety. Strong bilingual and teamwork skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• A minimum of three years of experience in a youth services program.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication, clerical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement weekly lesson plans related to afterschool activities including sports, arts, STEM or leadership.
• Assist with dismissal and escort students to safe locations.
• Create a workshop environment conducive to learning and mastery.
• Lead project-based activities and prepare participants for quarterly showcases.
• Produce mandated program reports based on participants’ achievements.
• Communicate with parents/guardians weekly and log calls.
• Collaborate with staff, partners, students and families.
• Participate in events, meetings and program activities; perform other duties as assigned.
