Job summary

Metropolitan Family Service is seeking a part-time SUN Activity Leader to design and teach afterschool activities for elementary students at Greenway Elementary. You will lead 12-16 students in a safe, engaging setting with a focus on academics, arts, recreation, and enrichment.

The role requires experience with children, strong organization, and the ability to collaborate with school staff and the SUN Site Manager. Hours are Mon-Thu 2:00-5:00pm for the Summer term, with $18/hr compensation.

• Experience in teaching children and creating lesson plans.
• Desire to work with children and provide a enriching, safe setting.
• Independent, self-motivated, creative and resourceful.
• Excellent organization and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach engaging, age-appropriate lessons with ties to academics, recreation and arts.
• Supervise groups of 12-16 students maintaining classroom decorum.
• Monitor daily routines: meals, recess, transitions.
• Record and submit student attendance daily.
• Maintain classroom rules and safety in accordance with policies.
• Communicate progress and needs with the SUN Site Manager.
• Foster positive relationships with students, families and staff.
