Punahou School in Hawaii seeks an Afternoon Supervision Leader to monitor grade 6 students after school, providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment. You supervise games, activities, and quiet work until pickup or transition to lessons, collaborating with ASC staff, faculty, students, and parents.

You’ll help evaluate program effectiveness, ensure students’ safety and well-being, and support the overall AS program operations on campus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise grade 6 students after school from 3:15 PM to 5:30 PM, ensuring safety and engagement.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment with age-appropriate activities.
• Coordinate with ASC Supervisor, Punahou Faculty, Staff, Students and Parents to support program operations and transitions.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and contribute to continuous improvement of the AS program.

Job description

Under the direction of the After School Care Supervisor, the Afternoon Supervision (AS) Leader is responsible for the supervision of students in grade 6 and provides a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for the children. The Leaders will supervise students after school as they engage in age‑appropriate games, activities, and quiet independent work until they are picked up or transition to their afternoon lessons/classes. The AS Leader works well with the ASC Supervisor, Student Workers, Punahou Faculty, Staff, and Parents. Evaluates the effectiveness of the program and activities, ensures the safety and physical well‑being of the children, and contributes to the effective operation of the overall AS program.

Position Details

• Work Year: 9 Months
• School Year: 2026-2027
• Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 3:15 PM - 5:30 PM, Schedule may vary based on operational needs
• Hourly Rate: $18.00/Hour

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
