Job summary

St. Andrew's Parish Parks and Playground Commission is seeking a part-time afternoon driver to safely transport children from local schools to our After School Program. The role follows the Charleston County School District calendar and offers a consistent weekday afternoon schedule.

No CDL required. Starting pay ranges from $17.00 to $18.50 per hour, based on experience, with responsibilities including transporting children, conducting vehicle inspections, and maintaining a positive environment

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old to drive a 14-passenger bus or at least 18 years old to drive a 7-passenger van.
• Valid driver license.
• Must maintain a driving record that meets the agency's vehicle insurance eligibility requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to maintain a consistent Monday - Friday afternoon schedule.
• Experience working with children or youth is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport children in a 14-passenger mini-bus, or a 7-passenger van
• Conduct pre and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Maintain a safe, positive environment for passengers
• Follow all traffic laws and agency safety procedures
• Communicate professionally with staff, parents, and school personnel
