Job summary

The Chabad Center of Northwest NJ in Rockaway, NJ is seeking an Afternoon Teacher for its Pre-K program. You will help create a warm, nurturing classroom and supervise children in the afternoon, coordinating age-appropriate activities in a supportive community setting.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with Pre-K or early childhood preferred.
• Warm, patient, nurturing demeanor with a love for young children.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to create developmentally appropriate activities.
• Reliable, punctual with afternoon scheduling requirements.
• Background checks and state childcare regulations compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage Pre-K students during afternoon program hours in a safe, structured setting.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, crafts, and lessons for early childhood learners.
• Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
• Support children's social, emotional, and cognitive development through play-based learning.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding daily activities and student progress.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom space.
• Collaborate with lead teachers and staff to ensure program consistency and quality.
