Job summary

United Protective Services, Inc. is seeking a professional Security Officer for the Afternoon & Night shift at luxury apartments in Houston 77020.

The role pays $15.00 per hour with a 36-hour work week and weekend schedule. You will patrol property, monitor CCTV, manage access, assist tenants and visitors, complete DARs and incident reports, and respond to emergencies while upholding safety and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Must be physically capable of extensive foot patrols.
• Must be able to drive and operate a golf cart safely.

• Basic computer proficiency and ability to use electronic reporting apps.

Responsibilities

• Protect property, personnel, visitors, and assets from theft and security threats.
• Conduct regular foot and mobile patrols and report suspicious activity.

• Maintain accountability for keys, badges, and equipment.

• Provide exceptional customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property management.
• Maintain communication with supervisors and property management.
• Complete required training and maintain certifications.

Primary Responsibilities

• Protect property, personnel, visitors, and assets from theft, damage, and security threats.
• Conduct regular foot and mobile patrols, identifying and reporting suspicious activity, safety hazards, and security violations.
• MUST be able to safely operate a golf cart and comply with all established golf cart safety procedures.
• Monitor CCTV surveillance, access control systems, and security equipment.
• Enforce property rules, security policies, and established post orders.
• Maintain accountability for assigned keys, badges, and security equipment.
• Complete accurate Daily Activity Reports (DARs), incident reports, and electronic patrol documentation.
• Identify and respond appropriately to unauthorized individuals, trespassing, and security concerns.
• Respond professionally to emergencies and escalated incidents according to established procedures.
• Provide exceptional customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property management.
• Maintain effective communication with supervisors, property management, and fellow Security Officers.
• Complete all required training and maintain applicable certifications.
• Perform additional security-related duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications & Abilities

• Must be physically capable of performing extensive foot patrols throughout an assigned shift.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb stairs for extended periods.
• Must be capable of safely driving and operating a golf cart.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service and conflict de-escalation skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to utilize electronic reporting applications.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work independently.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
