Job summary

Shearer’s Foods is seeking a Food Processing Operator for the afternoon and night shifts at our production facility in Indiana. You will set up and operate processing equipment, follow recipes, monitor variables and perform quality tests to ensure consistent product quality.

We offer a pay rate of $19.99 per hour and an equal opportunity workplace. Candidates with prior machine operation experience in food or beverage manufacturing are preferred; basic computer skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous machine operator experience preferred.
• Experience in food/beverage manufacturing a plus.
• Must read, understand and communicate with team.
• Able to do simple math and run-rate calculations.
• Troubleshooting and root-cause analysis ability.
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operation of industrial food processing equipment.
• Follow recipes and procedures, monitor and adjust processing variables.
• Perform product quality tests and collect data.
• Monitor fryer and oil temperatures to maintain product consistency.
• Clean and sanitize processing equipment.
• Change slicing heads every hour to ensure consistency.
