OneBlood in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Medical Technologist Supervisor to lead laboratory operations in the afternoons, ensuring timely and accurate testing under regulatory guidelines. The role includes staff scheduling, payroll, training, and quality activities, with oversight of Lab Assistants, Technologists and Leads.

Evening shift starts at 2:00 pm and may include weekends/holidays; occasional on-call rotation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, biology or related field from an accredited college or university.
3+ years in a clinical laboratory with supervision/management experience.
Florida Technologist license in Immunohematology or Blood Banking preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervises employees ensuring workflow efficiency and continuity of services.
Ensures completion of orientation, competency testing, and mandatory training.
Monitors production status and directs workflow to meet deadlines.
Provides oversight of Lab Assistants, Lab Technicians, Medical Technologists and Leads.
Participates in validations and KPI monitoring.
Offers leadership on testing protocols, results interpretation, and interfaces.
Ensures QC/QA procedures, calibration, and regulatory inspections are followed.
Participates in on-call rotation.
