Job summary

St. Paul Midway YMCA—University of MN Early Childhood Learning Center is seeking a Teacher's Aide (16+) to support classroom activities and supervise children after school hours. The role runs Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM with no evenings or weekend hours.

The position offers a base of $16.50 per hour plus potential grant-funded add-ons, plus a free Y membership and opportunities for professional growth; benefits vary for part-time staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16; preferred 18.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certifications within 30 days of hire.
• Strong commitment to quality childcare.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work with children and diverse backgrounds.
• Willingness to travel to other branches.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of daily plans and activities.
• Supervise children and participate in activities with them.
• Assist with activity preparation, cleanup, and room maintenance.
• Maintain the program site and equipment.
• Communicate with parents on an ongoing basis.
• Support CACFP and licensing requirements for meals and snacks, if applicable.
