Position Details
  • Position: Afternoon Chair Custodian (3pm - 11:30pm M-F)
  • Location: Mound Park Upper Elementary School
  • Work Year: School Year; Alternate shifts when school is not in session
  • Rate of Pay: Per Local 1305 Collective Bargaining Agreement
Qualifications
  • Two years of high school or equivalent for existing employees, HS diploma or GED for new hires.
  • Ability to perform primary responsibilities as outlined in the job description and Custodian I job description.
  • Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as handbooks, policies, contracts, safety rules, and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff and community members.
  • Willingness to complete additional training and learn new skills as required.
Major Responsibilities
  • Raise and lower the U.S. flag daily, replacing it when worn.
  • Respond to security alarms after hours, weekends, and holidays, securing the building afterward.
  • Adjust and monitor Building Automated Management Systems, report repairs.
  • Check mechanical equipment, boilers, pumps, and report discrepancies.
  • Maintain building mechanical systems and pool equipment, including chemical levels.
  • Perform safety checks of fire extinguishers, emergency and exit lighting, and maintain logs.
  • Conduct roof checks and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment.
  • Handle minor plumbing repairs and assist with structural repairs as needed.
