Assistant Teacher Qualifications:

• Minimum age of 16 years
• Prior experience preferred
• Must pass a CARI background check along with State and FBI Fingerprinting
• CPR/First Aid Certified

Our Assistant Teachers work together with Lead Teachers to:

• Develop and implement lesson plans
• Meet the individual needs of children, including feeding and diapering/potty training
• Participate in staff and training meetings
• Assist in designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children
• Interact with children to support play, exploration, and learning
• Present expectations appropriate to the child’s age and developmental level
• Implement activities that develop self-esteem and social skills
• Communicate professionally with parents and staff
• Meet Goddard Quality Assurance and NJ state requirements
• Use and complete assessment tools
