RTX in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, is seeking a co-op engineering student for a hybrid internship. The role involves researching repair environments, prototyping repairs with a Repair Development Engineer, and documenting engineering requirements for repairs.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, support root-cause investigations, and participate in meetings and training. Candidates must be enrolled in Mechanical/Aerospace/Engineering with a 3.0 GPA and US citizenship.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical, Aerospace, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

Responsibilities

  • Research operating environments and functionality of components, interactions with mating parts and other design factors.
  • Collaborate with other Repair Development Engineer (RDE) in the prototyping of new repairs, Source Demonstration, engage with audits as needed, and develop strategies which will return damaged parts back to service.
  • Create technical documents that provide engineering requirements for repairs and provide routine status report to customer and management through various channels.
  • Supports investigations of engine field incidents leading to root cause and corrective actions.
  • Supports in the develop of serviceable and repairable limits for engine part wear.
  • Participates as an active member in cross-discipline integrated product teams to provide design solutions that balance performance, cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Attend and have participation in group meetings, teleconferences and/or training required.
  • Based on business needs, the incumbent may be required to support other duties/functions within the company.
  • English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English

Immerse yourself in a Monday-Friday Co-Op session, that will run from January to June (it is expected students will take this time off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

Aftermarket and Sustainment Engineering executes both military and commercial repair design and repairs substantiations for engines. We create and improve ASE business and repair development tools. We design, develop, and qualify military repair tooling.

Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on a regular basis with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.
