Job summary

The Academy of Before & Aftercare is hiring part-time Teacher Assistants for the American Leadership Academy-San Tan Valley Campus. The role supports the Site Administrator, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for students before and after school.

Hours run 5:45am-8:00am and 2:30pm-6:00pm. Responsibilities include supervising students, facilitating activities, assisting with homework, and communicating with parents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass Applicable Background Check.
• At least 18 years of age or older.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
• Preferred: Associate’s degree or higher in early childhood education or related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in after-school programs, childcare, or educational environments.
• Experience assisting teachers with lesson planning, classroom management, or activity implementation.
• Relevant certifications in early childhood education or related field.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during before- and after-school hours, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Engage students with age-appropriate activities, crafts, and outdoor play.
• Assist with homework and provide guidance as needed.
• Help maintain a clean, organized classroom or activity space.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about participation and behavior.
• Support Site Coordinator with events and enrichment activities.
• Maintain attendance records for students and staff.
• Document student progress and incidents for reporting.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development.
• Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures.
