Job summary

Mi Escuela Montessori is seeking a dedicated After School Assistant to support our After Care Program. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children and helps create a safe, engaging environment for students after school.

Hours are 2:30pm-5:30pm, Monday through Friday, with opportunities to substitute for additional hours. The role requires strong communication, teamwork with teachers and families, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree preferred.
• Experience with children in school, recreation, coaching, or childcare settings preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and participate in physical activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during the after care program.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate games and enrichment activities.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and welcoming environment.
• Monitor behavior and communicate concerns to staff and families.
• Assist with sign-in/sign-out procedures and snack distribution.

Position Summary

Mi Escuela Montessori is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and student-focused After School Assistant to support our After Care Program. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, promotes healthy lifestyles, and creates a safe, engaging, and positive environment for students throughout the school day and after school.

Hours: 230pm-530pm, Monday through Friday with the opportunity to substitute for additional hours

After Care Duties

• Supervise students during the school's after care program.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate games, recreational activities, homework support, and enrichment opportunities.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and welcoming environment for all students.
• Monitor student behavior and communicate any concerns to school administration and parents as appropriate.
• Assist with student sign-in/sign-out procedures and ensure students are released only to authorized individuals.
• Support snack distribution and cleanup following school guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree preferred.
• Experience working with children in a school, recreation, coaching, or childcare setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, and families.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and actively participate in physical activities.
