Job summary

Saint Paul Public Schools is seeking a part-time Discovery Club staff member to supervise and support school-aged children in after-school programming. You will plan activities, supervise indoor and outdoor play, ensure safety, and build positive relationships with families and participants.

The role requires maturity, reliable attendance, and the ability to work after school and during non-school days. Training hours are provided to support ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Must meet the State Department of Human Services requirements for Assistant Child Care.
• Minimum age 18; High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year experience working with school-aged children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently implement enrichment and recreational activities for groups of up to 15 children.
• Actively supervise youth activities, enforce district policies and promote respectful behavior.
• Develop supportive relationships with Discovery Club participants and families.
• Document incidents and accidents; maintain safety procedures and logs.
• Greet and welcome youth and families; work cooperatively with staff.
• Attend required training hours annually.
