Job summary

The YMCA Beacons School Success Lead position in St. Paul is a part‑time after‑school role supporting K–12 youth with enrichment activities at Beacons centers across the area. The pay is $17.00 per hour, plus a wide range of benefits and an on‑going opportunity for growth within the YMCA Community initiatives.

The role emphasizes planning, program development, staff supervision, and collaboration with families and school staff to deliver high‑quality after‑school experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18.
• Experience and/or education in youth studies, child development, human relations, communication, or recreational programs.
• Certifications required within 30 days of hire: Adult and child CPR or CPR/PR; First Aid; and AED.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and facilitate youth development programming.
• Excellent interpersonal communications and mediation skills.
• Willingness to work with people of diverse populations.
• Demonstrated commitment to working with school age children in an enrichment setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and implement enrichment curriculum and program activities with a group of young people.
• Provide work direction to program staff and volunteers while on duty.
• Evaluate the program on a continuous basis and recommend needed changes to the Beacons School Success Sr. Coordinator and/or Program Director.
• Ensure that the center and classroom spaces are kept clean and organized.
• Perform administrative activities to support the program, including collecting daily attendance.
• Assist in the promotion of the program including recruiting young people to program, communication to families and school staff.
