Job summary

Wenatchee School District is seeking a Youth Development Staff (YDS) for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers after-school program. You will mentor students, support enrichment and academic activities, and assist with homework using iReady and Canvas.

Open daily 2.5–3 hours, Monday through Friday; schedules vary by school. This non-represented position does not include health insurance or paid leave benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience or interest in working with elementary and/or middle school students
• Willingness to learn and use behavior management strategies
• Strong communication skills and ability to work positively with students, staff, and families
• Comfort assisting students with homework, especially in math
• Bilingual skills are highly valued but not required

Responsibilities

• Serve as a positive role model and mentor by building relationships with students
• Support implementation of enrichment, academic, and community-building activities
• Maintain schedules and routines and respond to student behavior
• Assist students with homework using iReady and Canvas
• Supervise students in various settings
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment
• Collaborate with Site Coordinator to improve program quality
• Assist with student behavior management across settings
• Help keep the space clean and welcoming
• Support data collection and record-keeping
• Communicate with families as needed
• Participate in professional development, including off-hours sessions
