Job summary

Portland Public Schools is seeking a Teaching Site Coordinator to run the Wayfinders afterschool program at Rowe and Talbot for the 26-27 school year. This internal, part-time role focuses on delivering hands-on STEM and literacy activities, supervising a small team, and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating schedules, communicating with families and staff, collecting data for reporting, and ensuring grant requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Coach educators to deliver high-quality, hands-on curriculum.
• Provide real-time behavior management support that empowers teachers and fosters a positive student environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules and logistics.
• Excellent communication with teachers, students, families, and partners.
• Experience in hands-on STEM education.

Responsibilities

• Teach during program times and support lesson delivery.
• Lead engaging lessons and adapt curriculum for diverse learners.
• Coordinate with Maine Audubon and staff to ensure high-quality programming.
• Create a warm, inclusive learning environment.
• Supervise a team of educators and partners during after-school activities.
• Ensure safety and engagement during outdoor activities.
• Train and support staff, oversee attendance tracking and data collection.
• Communicate with families and school staff regularly.
• Meet 21st CCLC grant requirements and manage staffing schedules.
